Dr. Kate, as she is known to her patients, is a clinical neuropsychologist at MedStar National Rehabilitation Hospital (NRH). Her primary focus is helping inpatients and their families during acute recovery from stroke and brain injury. Beyond that, she also specializes in performing comprehensive neuropsychological evaluations for adults dealing with a wide range of neurologically based conditions and disorders, including acquired brain injury, stroke, brain tumor, movement disorders, and neurodegenerative diseases.

After earning a Bachelor of Science in oceanography from the United States Naval Academy, Dr. Kate served on active duty in the U.S. Navy as a Surface Warfare Officer. Following her military service, she obtained a master’s degree in psychology from Pepperdine University in Malibu, California, and a doctoral degree in clinical psychology from Palo Alto University in Palo Alto, California, specializing in neuropsychology. She completed her predoctoral internship at the VA Connecticut Healthcare System in West Haven, Connecticut, and her postdoctoral fellowship in neuropsychology at the VA Long Beach Healthcare System in Long Beach, California.

Dr. Kate understands the challenges adults face in navigating and adapting to changes in brain function. She places great importance on building meaningful connections with her patients and encourages a collaborative approach, working with them to gain a comprehensive understanding of their unique brain functioning.

In her free time, Dr. Kate enjoys spending time with her husband and children, supporting Navy Basketball and the Minnesota Vikings.
